Stringent punishment demanded for rapist

Xuyivi communities of Satakha, Zunheboto, Kohima, Dimapur and village council during an executive meeting held on July 10 in connection with the rape case at Satakha on July 5 resolved to urge the government to mete out due punishment to the guilty without any reservation. The meeting resolved to inform the government that the community would stick to its three demands comprising life imprisonment to the culprit, issuing non-bailable warrant to Kakiho and who must not be bailed by any one under any condition. The Xuyivi communities in a release issued by president, XCUS, Khehuto Zhimo, president XCUZ, G. Kuhovi Zhimo, president XCUK, Inato Zhimo, president XCUD, Kuhoi Zhimo and chairman Xuyivi village council, Toshiho Naga further demanded the government that failing to fulfill its demand, it would be compelled to take its own course of action and that the community would not be held responsible, adding the culprit would be judged as per the law of the land. Meanwhile, the Xuyivi community of different Naga inhabited areas of Nagaland in a separate press release also stated that the rapist Kakiho must be charged under section 376, 451 and 364, which involved rape of an underage by force.
