Neiba cautions state on CSS funds

Newly appointed secretary general (Northeast), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Neiba Ndang asserted that the state government submit utilization certificates of central funds and schemes, otherwise the central government would stop allocation of next funds. Interacting with media persons at his residence here Tuesday after returning back from Shillong, the former Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) lamented that central projects could not be implemented timely in many states. On his new assignment, Neiba said he was looking forward to strengthen and revamp the party in the entire Northeast. He also informed that the party has covered eight districts in Nagaland except Dimapur, Zunheboto and Kiphire where the party would form its units. Ndang opined that all political parties in the state should work towards development of Nagaland. He said the state unit has two MLAs- Agriculture Minister Dr Chumben Murry and Parliamentary Secretary, Rural Development & REPA, Pangnyu Phom, five MLAs in Manipur and 15 in Meghalaya including one MP-Ms.Agatha Sangma, who is union minister of state for rural development. He said only through consensus could a solution be found to the Naga political problem. He also disclosed that union Minister of State , Rural including other north eastern states after the parliament session. The felicitation programme for Neiba Ndang among others by the state general secretary, NCP, A Kithan, Treasurer NCP, Hothongse Sangtam, president, NCP, Peren unit and various other party officials. Meanwhile, the 7th Peren Assembly Constituency, NCP congratulated Neiba Ndang for being inducted as secretary general, NE, NCP at Shillong on July 11. NCP, Peren district president , Akuna H, also expressed gratitude to NCP president Sharad Pawar, general secretary, NCP, P A Sangma and president, NCP (NE) Dr Radhabinod Koijam for inducting Ndang to the post. The release also expressed confidence under the leadership of Ndang and hoped that the party will make progress not only in Nagaland but in the whole of Northeast. It may be mentioned that he was earlier a member, NE coordination committee, NCP. Mr Ndang joined active politics in 1984 and served as general secretary Congress Kisan Cell then joint secretary NPCC in 1988 and general secretary NPCC in 1992. He won his first election in 1993 as Congress candidate from 7-Peren assembly constituency and elected as Speaker NLA. He was re-elected from the same constituency in 1998 and appointed minister for Health & Family Welfare. He resigned from the Congress after the 2008 assembly elections and joined the NCP.
