Seeme XI, YCC win

Seeme XI and Younger Cricket Club (YCC) won their respective matches in the inaugural day of the first Yekuto Summer Cricket running tournament organized by Purana Bazar Sumi Students Union (PBSSU) East Dimapur that got under way at GHSS ground, Nagarjan here Wednesday. In the first match, Seemi XI defeated Spark CC by 27 runs while in the second match of the day, Younger Cricket Club defeated Donners XI by 32 runs. Earlier, declaring the tournament opened, the chief guest of the function, Y. Hokhuvi Aye thanked the union for organizing such kind of tournament “social gathering” which according to him will promote peace and harmony among the youths in the society. Lamenting on the non participation of girl’s team in the tournament, he assured to award Rs. 10,000, if any girl’s team turned up for the next year tournament. The winners and runners-up of the tournament will receive Rs. 20,000 and Rs.10,000 respectively along with running trophy. Besides this individual prizes starting from semifinals such as man of the match, man of the series, best keeper, best fielder and best bowler will be awarded.
