Health issues highlighted at DPDB meet

Monthly Kohima DPDB meeting was held on July 15 at DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of MLA & Chairman Kohima DPDB, Dr. Nicky Kire. Among other officers, the meeting was also attended by EAC probationers. The chairman exhorted them to gather such field experiences and learn practical things, which would help them while discharging their duties as responsible officers. Reviewing the minutes of previous meeting, DIS Chiephobozou expressed satisfaction with the verification reports on the opening of Government Primary School at Tuophe Phezou and urged the board members to consider for recommendation for opening of the school. Regarding the shifting of underground rehabilitation centre from AG colony, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Sachopra Vero said the matter was taken up with government and necessary action will be taken after certain arrangement were done by the government. The activities and profile of various health programmes was presented by Chief Medical Officer, Kohima Dr. L. Ralte. She said NRHM was launched in the North East in November 2005 with an objective to deliver services to the un-reached and underserved and has made the accessibility of the service provided and the awareness to accesses these realities. Dwelling on the activities of health programme implemented under CMO, Dr. Ralte expanded on Reproductive and Child Health (RCH), Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), Integrated Diseases Surveillance Project (IDSP), Revised National TB Control Programme, Integrated Counseling and Testing Centres, (ICTC) for HIV and AIDS, National Leprosy Irradiation Programme (NLEP), National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme (NVBDCP), Prevention of Food Adulteration Act (PFA), National Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control (NIDDCP) and National Blindness Control Programme (NBCP). Executive Engineer (PHED) Rural, Y. Tep and Executive Engineer, Urban Edward Tia presented detail reports on water supply augmentation projects in their respective jurisdiction under both urban and rural.
