CRPO XI win 14th football trophy in Tsg

Chingme Range Public Organisation (CRPO) XI defeated defending champions Skipper FC 5-3, by penalty shoot out after both team were locked goalless in the regulated time and even in the extra time in the final match to clich the 14th Sangtamchuba memorial football trophy, played at parade ground, Friday. Organized by Tuensang District Football Association the tournament, a total of 17 teams took part in the tournament. In the individual prizes categories: the best goalkeeper went to Lanu of Young Hidden; best defender to Y. Chingmak of CRPO XI and best midfielder to Oungbou of Skipper FC. Young Hidden finished third, while Friends United secured fourth place. Earlier, the chief guest of the closing ceremony, Additional Superintendent of Police, Yanchu O. Chang encouraged the players to maintain 'sporting spirit' in order to participate in the state and national level. He also appreciated the players for maintaining peaceful games through out the trophy without any disturbance from any quarter. Lauding the organizer for their sincere effort in conducting the tournament, the chief guest expressed hope for more such activities in the district for the betterment of the society. The final match was also witnessed by the Deputy Commissioner Tuensang Y.L. Jami, SDO Civil Abhishek Prakash IAS, chairman Tuensang Town Council, I Alemba Chang beside DB's and others invitees.
