IGNOU candidates informed
DIMAPUR: In reference to the advertisement that was published in this daily on June 14 regarding IGNOU admission to academic programme for July 2009/January 2010 sessions, candidates have been informed that last date for submission of application forms for July 2009 session has been extended to July 31.
IPM training begins from Noklak
DIMAPUR: A season long training on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) was launched under Noklak sub-division on June 30. To be culminated in the month of October this year, the training is being organized on “Principles of IPM” and “Rodent Management” for which two Farmers’ Field Schools (FFS) were set up at Sheno valley covering Lingyu, Tsuwao, Noklak, Nokyan and Kosong villages. Altogether sixty five progressive farmers have been registered under the two FFS since the first day of the training.
Dimapur police officers transferred
Dimapur: Dimapur SDPO Niuland, K. Khalo has been transferred as SDPO Wokha; he has been replaced by Soukha Kakheto, while DSP traffic Wati has been transferred to IGP (INT) branch and has been replaced by Apok Lemtur. When asked about the transfer of the officers from Dimapur DEF, SP Liremo Lotha said that the officers K. Khalo and Wati were efficient in their duties and hoped that the officers who were posted to Dimapur would do well.
Bhandari police seizes banned drugs
DIMAPUR: Personnel of Bhandari police manning the check post have arrested two persons for possessing 70 boxes of banned Spasmo Proxyvon worth Rs.28,000 from a pick-up van in which they were traveling on July 14. According to Bhandari police, the two arrested persons were identified as John Patton (29), son of late Tsomomo, and Rabemo Patton (26), son of Npio Patton, both from Riphyim village (Old). Both the persons have been forwarded to judicial custody.
ADC Mkg. directs shop owners
DIMAPUR: Additional Deputy Commissioner and Administrator, Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), R. Asenla Keitzer has directed all shop owners located along the National Highway 61 starting from Sewak Gate to Sungkomen Ward to paint and white wash their respective shop buildings. According to an official bulletin, the directives comes in the backdrop proposed ‘Road Show’ programme coinciding with Tsungremong festival on August 1 for which the authority concerned would conduct a thorough checking with from July 29 and defaulters would be dealt with as per laid down rules.
Training allowance for PO Mokokchung
DIMAPUR: Training allowance to polling officials who had attended the training for conducting the 15th Lok Sabha election would be given from the office of the District Election Office, Mokokchung. According to an official bulleting, DEO Mokokchung, Mathung, has asked polling officials concerned to bring identity card or appointment letter issued by Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Returning Officer for receiving the allowance.

PHEK: The Sohomi Council has informed all concerned Govt.departments/organizations to consult Sohomi Village Council and get a no objection certificates before carrying out any developmental activities and for acquisition of land in Phek on land owned by Sohomi Village. A press note issued by Dunysu Neinu , Chairman , Village Council Sohomi people not to cheated by false individuals pretending to be patta owners claiming ownership of land owned by Sohomi Village. The note added that stern action would be taken against such individuals/defaulters as per Sohomi Village customary laws.

NSCN (IM), Dimapur, 2nd Commander, Town Command, has informed rightful owner of the vehicle to claim it after producing proper documents within 15 days and also could contact mobile numbers-9856000066 or 9862092127 for details.
