144 Cr. PC in Assam borders

Prohibitory orders under section 144 of Cr. PC have been promulgated across the Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh border to check anti social elements. Sivasagar additional district magistrate in promulgation of prohibitory order has enforced night curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the area of 5 km belt in Assam side bordering Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh in Sivasagar district, restricting the movement of any person, group of person or any vehicular traffic, a DIPR bulletin reported. However, security personnel and civil officials on duty have been exempted from the purview of the order. According to the report, the order would remain in force for a period of 60 days starting June 29. This order was notified through Mokokchung additional deputy commissioner R Asenla Keitzar, it stated.
