The world’s largest automaker – Toyota Motor Corporation is gearing up to roll out a facelifted camry in the Indian market, on 31 July 2009. According to reports, the facelifted Camry shall not sport many changes; it is going to be mid-life facelift. Toyota Camry is a mid-size car, formerly a compact car manufactured by Toyota since 1980. The word “Camry” is an anglicised phonetic transcription of the Japanese word “kanmuri” meaning “crown”. Incidentally, “Camry” is also an anagram for “my car”. The facelifted seventh-generation 2010 Camry was unveiled by Toyota at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. The facelifted Camry will feature visual changes including an updated front fascia unique to each grade, larger headlamp lenses, LED tail lamps (previously hybrids only), and new wheel/wheel cover designs. The facelifted version will come with audio systems with USB connectivity, a backup camera integrated into the navigation system, and vehicle stability control. The facelifted Camry will compete with Honda’s smartened Accord with a V6 engine, and Skoda’s superb petrol variant.
