Promotion of Taekwondo in Bihar

Bihar Additional DGP and president of Bihar Taekwondo Association (BTA) C. Lima Imchen on Sunday announced that BTA has entered into an agreement with the Korean centre for the development of Taekwondo in Bihar. And to this effort 3 coaches and grand masters have already arrived and started training the Taekwondo athletes of Bihar. He was speaking at the one day programme on celebration of Bihar –Korea taekwondo and cultural ties at IMA hall in Patna Bihar. The Korean troops presented Taekwondo and dance skills at a function organized jointly by Bihar Taekwondo Association (BTA) and Korean Center for International Co-Operation. Stressing on the importance of Taekwondo, Imchen said unlike other role models in martial arts, where Kungfu has Bruce Lee Jackie Chan, Jet li; Karate has Chukh Norris and Aikido has Steven Segal as role models, Teakwondo has no role modes and so it needs role models to promote it. Promotion of Teakwondo is important as it keeps young man disciplined and honour and out of trouble and will be productive members of the society, Imchen said. High court Justice Anjana Prakash who was the guest of honour inaugurated the function. She lauded the effort of the BTA for development of martial skills in Bihar and also appreciated the efforts of the Korean Centre for providing Teakwondo skills to children. Dr. Bae Boo Hymun, chief - DE - mission of the Korean troops and a professor of the Chang Won College too spoke on the occasion. He assured the Bihar association that delegates from Korean centre will visit Bihar at regular intervals. Earlier, vote of thanks was proposed by ADGP C. Lima Imchen.
