Irked by alleged “high handedness” of Angami Public Organization (APO) volunteers against NSF volunteers during the bandh called by NSF on July 10, the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) Saturday expressed resentment and displeasure over these acts. Chakhesang Students’ Union in a press note alleged that NSF volunteers deployed at High School junction were reportedly manhandled by Angami Public Organization volunteers. “In the smooth process of dispensing the NSF duties, called against the state government for its failure to heed to the demand of the students over corruption in the NPSC, some Angami Public Organization volunteers intervened with the act of harassment, manhandling publicly and seizing the volunteers’ badges,” the union asserted. The Chakhesang Students’ Union said such actions were beyond their expectation and termed them as “condemnable and malicious”. The Chakhesang Students’ Union also said “unwanted and perturbed” action of Angami Public Organization volunteers was not only detrimental to the fraternity but was the root of “distrust, destruction and vicious” to Naga Society. Meanwhile, the union has extended its fullest support to NSF and has appealed to all “right thinking” citizens to take serious note of such act and extend their cooperation and support for the larger interest and harmonious co-existence of the Naga society.
