: The second batch of ASHAs training under Zunheboto district, comprising Akuluto and Satakha blocks was conducted from August 10 to 13 at the CMO’s office. The resource persons for the training were Johnny, state facilitator, NRHM, Matsung, DPM, Wokha, Dr. Avika Jimo, MO, AYUSH, CHC, Pughoboto, Dr. W. N. Ezung, Dy. CMO, Wokha and Avikali Jhakhalu DPM, Zunheboto.
According to P. Renthungo Odyuo, media officer, IEC Bureau, department of H&FW, Zunheboto, the training started with introduction of resource persons to the trainees followed by self introduction of the trainees.Deputy CMO, Zunheboto, Dr. Hokishe Sema gave a brief overview of the training programme and also exhorted the ASHAs to take the training provided seriously and also informed them that they would be issued photo identity cards.
Further, he added that being representatives of their villages, ASHAs played a vital role in their community.
Speaking on the occasion, CMO, Dr. Viheshe Yepthomi reminded the trainees of their tremendous roles and responsibilities at grassroots level and to remain committed to their duties so that with their concerted effort and cooperation, department would bring about tangible improvement in the healthcare access and delivery system at the district level.
A total of 40 ASHAs attended the four day training.
