To create awareness to the public on Swine Flu, the District Hospital Phek conducted a seminar on H1N1 Influenza or Swine Flu with church leaders and public leaders.
Speaking at the seminar, Medical superintendent, Dr. Kevingulie Khro, stated that gravity of the disease indicated the “indiscipline nature of its citizens”.
While urging the public not to panic since Swine Flu was like any regular seasonal flu, Dr. Khro also asked them to keep vigil and avoid traveling in epidemic areas or crowded places. He also urged them to maintain good nutrition and personal hygiene to beat the pandemic flu. Paediatrician Dr. Wethselo Tsuhah spoke on the impact of Swine Flu on children.
He said children were more susceptible to diseases and urged parents to protect their children from exposure or close contact with people who had come from epidemic areas.
