4 more swab samples collected in Meghalaya

Hospital authorities in Meghalaya on Wednesday collected swab samples of four more persons, even as test reports of the seven persons, including doctors and nurses are awaited for confirmation. The swab samples of the four persons, including a ward boy of Shillong Civil hospital were collected following complained of having swine flu symptoms, Director Health Services Dr K H Lakiang said. Of the four, Dr Lakiang said three Shawn Lamin, Ricky Dhar and Shanbor Wanniang complained of flu symptoms after visiting their friends who are infected with H1N1 virus at the isolation ward in Shillong Civil hospital. Pynhunlang Bareh who recently arrived here from the swine-flu hit area of Pune was the fourth person whose swab sample was collected. So far, Meghalaya had sent the nasal and throat swab samples of 26 persons. Of the 26, only five have been tested positive.
