Govt. Schools deliberate on children with special needs

DIMAPUR: A joint sensitization-cum-consultation program on issues of children with special needs was organized by Distrcit Education Officer, Education Department, Dimapur in collaboration with Prodigal’s Home and at Government Higher Secondary School Auditorium, Nagarjan on August 18. A total of 118 heads of government primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools, Sarva Shiksah Abhiyan department, and staff of Prodigals’ Home attended the program. District Education officer, Kekosie Angami welcomed the participants followed by introduction of participants and special songs by Vikhili and Sune (Nagaland Blind Association, Notun Bosti). Resource persons deliberated on various topics. K. Ela, Director Prodigals’ Home spoke on ‘approaches addressing issues of Children with Special Needs’ (CWSN) and Maong Jamir, Assistant Director, Prodigals’ Home spoke on ‘rights of people with disabilities’.
