BSNL services normal despite strike

Joining their counterparts across the country, the non-executive employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Dimapur, under the banner of United Forum of BSNL Unions are also participating in the 48-hour strike. District secretary, BSNL employees union, Dimapur said they were demanding immediate settlement of wage revision of non-executives, implementation of promotion policy and anomaly committee report. The union also demanded from the BSNL management to stop unfair labour practices. The district secretary also warned of indefinite strike if their demands were not fulfilled as promised. To a question, he asserted that the strike would affect the mobile network and claimed it could even affect other networks. He said even the BSNL executive employees union had extended their support to the strike.
