Audition for Mr. Nagaland DIMAPUR: The Star.ex team will be organising auditions for Mr. Nagaland 2009 in Mokokchung on September 8 between 10 am to 2 pm at Longkumer Kilem, Wokha on September 10 from 12pm to 3pm at Town hall, Kohima on September 12 and 13 from 10 am to 4pm at Holiday Inn, in Dimapur on September 15 and16 at Star .ex Grooming School and Modeling Agency.Star.ex event coordinator informed that aspirants must be between 18 and 25 years of age with a minimum height of 5’6 and selected candidates would be called for preliminary rounds where finalists would be selected for grand finale scheduled on November 14 in Dimapur. Merhülietsa local board social work DIMAPUR: Merhülietsa Local Board (MLB) has resolved to conduct mass social work on September 19. MLB in its general body meeting held on August 18 reaffirmed its notification dated 17/8/1993 prohibiting sale of liquor in its colony which would be into effect from 15 days of publication of this notice. A joint note issued by issued MLB Chairman K. Sono and secretary N. Khatsü stated that anyone found violating the notification shall be held responsible for the consequences. NPF Farmers wing Kiphire Dimapur: NPF Kiphire president C Lichokyu Sangtam has organized farmer’s wing in the division. The farmer’s wing will be headed by Mark Sangtam as president, Daniel Sangtam as general secretary along with office bearers. The new wing has also pledged to support DAN government, chief minister and the president of NPF. 15th ASAN General Conference DIMAPUR: Agricultural Students’ Association of Nagaland (ASAN) will hold its 15th General Conference on August 28 and 29 at NU: SASRD Medziphema campus WDWSA meeting DIMAPUR: Wokha District Women Sports Association (WDWSA) has convened an emergency meeting on August 25 at 10 am at Hotel Nili. A release issued by vice president, WDWSA requested all organizing committee members and office bearers to attend the meeting. NPF Chümukedima meeting DIMAPUR: Chümukedima unit of NPF has convened an emergency meeting on August 24 at 2 pm at CPO Hall Chümukedima. A release issued by unit president P Beituo Hama requested all Unit office bearers of the parent body women wing, youth wing Chumukedima Town NPF councilors, office bearers of Area unit to 4-Ghaspani -1 A/c to Dimapur NPF to Central NPF and all senior party leaders to attend the meeting. ANCSU meeting Kohima: The 4th organizing committee meeting of All Nagaland College Students’ Union has been convened on August 24 at 12 pm at NSF conference hall. All committee members and executives have been asked to attend the meeting. Peace concerto to perform at DABA DIMAPUR: The peace concerto team under the banner ‘peace channel’ will be performing on August 23 at Ao Baptist Church Duncan Dimapur at 4 pm. Peace Channel has extended invitation to one and all from all denominational and religions to witness the show. NPYC, DYC asked to submit photo DIMAPUR: Office bearers of NPYC and Presidents of DYC who are yet to submit their passport photo (two copies) for identity card have been requested to submit at the earliest to office or email to [email protected] This was informed through a press release issued by vice president Saliezotuo Meru. Baptist Youth Fellowship Dimapur DIMAPUR: The monthly combined service of Baptist Youth Fellowship Dimapur (BYFD) will be held at Town Baptist Church on August 23 from 4 pm. The service will be chaired by Lawrence Ngullie while the message would be delivered by youth secretary, NBCCYD, Rev Iringtie Kauring. ASU on IPL verification Kohima: The non local verification drive carried out by the Angami Students’ Union has been postponed to August 29. All non locals in and around Kohima who are yet to get their Inner Line Permit checked have been directed to get it verified at the earliest. ANDESA membership Kohima: All Nagaland Diploma Engineer Service Association has informed that membership and compulsory contribution prescribed by the Association of Engineers, PWD Nagaland, shall not be subscribed by ANDESA members who are in the rank of sub-divisional officers, executive engineers and superintendent engineers. A release by president and general secretary of ANDESA, Vikheto Shohe and N. Thiya Jamir, stated it was decided as per their constitution which stated that association cannot be a member of two associations. ANDESA however extended its support to Association of Engineers PWD on its agitation. It also informed it members to support the agitation without monetary contributions. CTC ward 10 to ban intoxicants DIMAPUR: Chumukedima Town Council (CTC), ward 10 in a general meeting held on August 18 resolved to ban all sort of intoxicant liquors and drugs within ward 10 under CTC jurisdiction with immediate effect. In a press release issued by Khriesavilie Yhoshu convener judicial cell, CTC stated that violators will be penalized with Rs.5000 and repeated defaulters would be ex-communicated from Chumukedima area. ANDESA new office bearers DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Diploma Engineer Service Association have elected Er Vekhito Shohe as President, Er. Jhoubeizo Kesiyei as vice president and Er. N Thiya Jamir as general secretary. The new members were elected in its emergency meeting held on August 6. A note issued by the general secretary stated that advisory board; executive committee and action committee members were also selected. Ahthibung ad-hoc town new members Dimapur: Ad-Hoc Town Committee, Ahthibung in a general election held on August 13 and elected Letgin Singson as vice chairman, Robert Singson as secretary, lhaineng as treasurer and Jangal, Lalthang and Thangmang as members. In a press release issued by Letgin Singson, vice chairman Ahthibung Ad-Hoc Town Committee disclosed that Robert Singson and Lhaineng were appointed as government nominees. The elected members extend gratitude for electing them. Further the committee members acknowledge the service rendered by the outgoing EAC Ahthibung, Vekhiye Chakhesang to the people of the area.
