Awareness camp on HIV and AIDS in Kubza

Care and Support Society Mokokchung currently initiating a targeted intervention project under Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) organized a one day awareness camp on HIV and AIDS at Government Middle School Kubza on August 21. 41 students and teaching staff attended the Camp. At the awareness camp discussion on basics of HIV and AIDS was led by Project Counselor Asenla. She stressed on the importance of right information and awareness about HIV and AIDS. Outreach Worker Rongsen spoke on ‘Substance Abuse’. Nuken A/T led the camp; Amenla A/T pronounced the invocation and class- VII and VIII collectively presented special song. He deliberated on causes of substance abuse and its effects on abuser especially the youngsters. Campers were also briefed on current HIV and AIDS scenario of the state by Project Manager Moa. N. Jamir. He also spoke on Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) and stressed that such treatment could prolong those life that was infected with deadly virus. The camp concluded with voluntary blood test where both teachers and students participated. Managing Director of C&SS Imchawati expressed gratitude to headmaster and his colleagues’ students of Government Middle School Kubza for providing platform to organize such awareness camp on HIV and AIDS and for all their moral support and arrangement.
