A three day block level training program for ASHAs on 5th module was held at DC’s conference hall Mon from August 18 to 20 with Ruopfüvituo, DPM, Dimapur; Neisevenuo, DPM, Kohima and Manpong Konyak DPM, Mon as the resource persons.
Exhorting the ASHA workers, SDO Civil, Mon Sadar, Hiazu Meru urged the trainees to judiciously utilize the medical facilities provided by the Government under Communitization and also to know the roles and responsibilities of ASHA to bring up a healthy mother and a healthy child.
Maintaining that medical officers and staffs have a big responsibility, he urged them to provide good medical services to the people through their skills and knowledge acquired from the resource persons.
Meru stressed on the need of mass awareness on health sector and pointed out that lack of awareness and ignorance has deprived the rural people from availing free medical services provided by the Government. He appealed to the ASHAs to impart the same training which they have learned from the resource persons to the people back at the villages for mass awareness.
According to an official bulletin, the resources persons spoke on the topic including ‘Knowing Myself’, ‘ASHA as an Health Activist’, ‘Human Rights and Entitlement’, ‘Right to Health’, ‘Learning about Leadership’, ‘Communication Skill’, ‘Decision Making Skill’, ‘Primary Health System’, ‘Negotiation Skill’, and ‘Communication Mobilization’, besides discussion and feedbacks.
