Rock School Music Clinic inaugurated

Chairman of NKVIB and advisor to Music Task Force, Dr. Nicky Kire on Monday inaugurated a two day music workshop called the Rock School Music Clinic at G. Rio School Kohima. Around 75 musicians registered to enhance their skills in Piano, Vocal, Guitar and Drums guided by noted Naga musicians. Lauding the organizers, Dr. Nicky Kire said that the music clinic was a first step in the right direction for the Naga youths. He expressed optimism to take a second step forward next year if the clinic yields well. He said that the Government of Nagaland was keen on promoting music, taking music as an industry, and therefore urged musicians to avail the opportunity with determination. He further assured the support of Music Task Force. The two days music clinic will be concentrated on piano, vocals, electric and bass guitar, and drums to be taught by Khyochano TCK Ngully, Nise Meruno, Obed Zeme and Lopeno Ovung respectively. Trainees will be taught on theory and reading, technical exercises, ear tests, performance etc. It is being sponsored by Music Task Force. The Rock School music clinic is an initiation under the Trinity Guidhall UK. The Rock School is a unique field in brining the world of mucis exams bang up to date. Its syllabuses are designed to develop a whole range of skills that reflect the realistic requirements of being a musician in today’s world. (Correspondent)
