Dimapur District Village Council Chairman’s Union (DDVCCU) Tuesday lauded Dimapur deputy commissioner for speaking against charging of extra rate on various essential commodities by businessmen. The DDVCCU secretary Khondao Lotha said that ever since the incumbent DC, Moangwati Aier took the helm of district executive head series of strict measures against drugs and alcohol peddlers has been taken in efficient coordination with police. The union said that “against this bedrock” the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce’s (DCC) demand for “unconditional apology” from Dimapur deputy commissioner which was no less than taking “confrontational posture” was “very unfortunate”. It felt that DCC instead of taking “confrontationist stands” would do a lot of good services to the people in the line of DC’s statement
