Soil and Water Conservation commissioner and secretary, A. Jami on Tuesday called upon department officials to be honest, transparent and accountable while adhering to the rules and regulations of the government.
Addressing the 2nd departmental review session for the officers of Soil & Water conservation held at the Directorate’s conference hall, Jami emphasized on teamwork to achieve desired goals of the governmental programmes and asked officers to be stationed at their respective places of posting to develop a good rapport with the farming community.
Apart from addressing the meeting, Jami also participated and interacted with the officers and gave various suggestions to improve upon the working culture in the department.
Director of Soil and Water Conservation, R.T. Asang Jamir who also addressed the meeting stressed on the need for collection of accurate information on meteorology data especially rainfall data. He reminded that the information was not only required for the department alone but also by all the departments/agencies and people from all walks of life with the growing consciousness on global warming and climate change in the present world.
