A two day contemporary music workshop by rock school is underway at IMC hall with Khyo Tek Ngullie teaching the keyboard, Lopeno for drums, Obed Zeme for guitar/bass and Nise for vocals. The inaugural function was attended by more than 80 participants and Director, Music Task Force, Gugs Chishi as the chief guest.
Khyo tek Ngullie informed that the rock school was established under the Trinity Guild Hall of Trinity School of Music, London. She added that the certificate of grading which the school issued after clearing the exam was recognized all over the world.
Meanwhile, Gugs Chishi informed that government was taking a lot of initiatives to make music an industry and make music an employment opportunity for the youths.
He informed that the government has till now distributed musical instruments worth Rs 50 lakhs to various institutes, organizations and bands. While at the same time he disclosed that the government was supporting nearly 20 students who were pursuing music with a lump sum payment of Rs 1 lakh each to cover a certain percentage of the total expenditure.
