Seso FC, Excel United Club in YSC semi-final

Seso FC blanked two-time winners New Market 3-0, while in another encounter Excel United Club, Kohima registered a resounding victory 5-0 over Burma Camp United, Dimapur to secure their semifinals berth in the ongoing 15th Youth Soccer Championship played at local ground Kohima, Thursday. The championship is being organized by Classic Club, Kohima on the theme, “March on the front”. Seso FC will now take on with Excel United Club, Kohima on Saturday at 3 pm in the first semi-final match. Three goals in span of thirty five minutes was enough for Seso FC as they overcame tournament favorite New Market in the first quarterfinal match. Seso FC found the net in the 43rd minute in an unexpected way, when New Market XI Neiphretuo trying to clear the ball from its danger zone bounced back after hitting at its opponent Kobu Kiwe only allowed the ball to found an empty net. The second goal for Seso FC was scored by Vikuzo Zhotso, through a free kick in the 54th minute, which saw a protest from opponent players objecting the goal. However the officials rule in favour of Seso FC. Two players- Kezevituo and Meichivilie (both New Market XI) were cautioned by the referee for their unsporting behaviour. Kekhlusapi o Sale sealed the victory for Seso FC in the 61st minute. Earlier, in the first half New Market XI had the real chance of talking a lead in the 20th minute but a powerful shot by Diethozolie hit the cross bar and bounced back. In the second quarterfinal match, Excel United Club, Kohima forged ahead in the 10th minute through Mayanmeren Jamir and in the 30th minute a grounder shot from Imnaakum Longkumer found the mark to make it 2-0 in favour of Excel United Club. With ten minutes to go for the long whistle, Excel United Club blasted home three more goals – Kethozapu Zeliang in the 64th and 69th minutes ( 3rd and 5th goals) respectively and another goal was scored by diminutive striker Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome in the 67th minute (4th goal). Three players Lalpu and Jongong (Both Burma Camp United) and Kethozapu Zeliang (Excel United) were awarded a yellow card by the referee.
