Protesting students of Sao Chang Government College, Tuensang on Thursday resumed their normal classes considering the academic career of the students and also in view of the mid-term examination scheduled to start from September 7. The students however, remained firm with their demand for the principal’s replacement and decided to wait till September 15 for the government to fulfil their demand. The students threatened agitation in its fullest form including boycotting of classes if their demand was not fulfilled within the stipulated time. Sao Chang Government College Students’ Union general secretary, Sethem in a statement expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the students due to the strike and further requested all concerned to bear with the circumstances in the greater interest of the college. It may be mentioned that the students initially resorted to indefinite strike on August 25 when the principal declared holiday for two days ahead of the college general election.
