Reiterating questions raised earlier by him in the form of a press statement on alleged financial irregularities in the DMC, member of DMC Ward No.9 Hejoto slammed DMC member-in-charge planning and development Nungsang Jamir for “glorifying himself and the chairman” instead of answering his questions.
Hejeto reasserted that there was no money under the Millennium Market project head even though an amount of Rs.73 lakh was collected from each of the allottes @ Rs.50,000. Since money paid by allottees were refundable on surrender of allotment; Hejeto said if allottees had surrendered allotments, then where were the documents. On the construction of building at New Market, Hejeto alleged that an amount of Rs.2,78,02,000 was collected as advance from allottees but work has been suspended since February 2009 and wanted to know where has the money gone.
Further, he alleged that an amount of Rs.60 lakhs was collected as advance from allottees for Hongkong Market during last part of 2008 but work yet to start and therefore demanded to know where is the money. He also raised questions on alleged non deposit of Employees Provident Fund of DMC employees as well as the collection of money @ Rs.200 from each shop in Dimapur for installation of CCTV.
