Security agencies have unearthed a deadly terror plot by Lashker-e-Toiba with the arrest of Aslam Kashmiri in New Delhi last week. LeT had once again conspired in a lethal attack on the financial capital of India which our security agencies averted. This time, the LeT had adopted a changed modus operandi taking security agencies by surprise. According to Zee News reports, LeT has ordered all its terrorists to maintain a low profile. They have been ordered to live in ‘Chhals’ instead of high profile buildings and travel by state transport buses and local trains rather than private taxis. The LeT adopted this strategy so that terrorists don’t stand out and can mix with the local crowd so that it becomes difficult for security agencies to trace them. The local sleeper cells were also supposed to help them. Police got this information from the arrested terrorists Aslam Kashmiri. According to Zee News reports, Aslam was to travel from Mumbai to Nanded and back in a state transport bus. The local sleeper cells of the LeT were also believed to be working with him. This time LeT chose Mumbadevi slums in Mumbai to hatch their conspiracy. According to Zee News reports, terrorists had conspired to carry out attacks not only in Nanded but also in Mumbai, Aurangabad and several other places in Maharashtra. With the arrest of Aslam Kashmiri, security agencies have averted a major conspiracy but the threat persists.
