With the objective of assessing situation of disadvantaged and less privileged individuals, a two member team of International Committee of the Red Cross led by Alexis Heeb and Cecile Francoise Coudeyras visited and interacted with director, advisor and staff of Prodigals’ Home.
On August 5, Alexis Heeb, Deputy Protection Coordinator along with Secretary and representatives of Dimapur Red Cross Society (DRCS), visited the centre of Prodigals’ Home and discussed about the issues confronting women and children in difficult situation. Cecile Francoise, Physical Rehabilitation Project Manager, along with Zakie Kire, general secretary Nagaland Red Cross Society, Inaka Assumi, Secretary of DRCS, and Robin, member of DRCS visited Prodigals’ Home Community Resource and Training Centre for persons with disability for assessment of problems and challenges faced by persons with disability.
The team interacted with persons with disability, parents of children with disability, and director, advisor and staff of Prodigals’ Home with regard to special needs of the disabled. While sharing concern the team listened to the problems and challenges faced by persons with disability. Vikhili and Sune from Blind School, Notun Bosti, presented a song titled ‘Hope for the Blind’.
The objective of the interactive visits was to get a hands on experience of issues confronting the less privileged and disadvantaged in the society so that they could explore means of extending help in alleviating their situations in the future.
