Patton cautions land encroachers

Asserting that the department of Geology and Mining was all set to protect its land at any cost as the land was out rightly purchased from individual patta holder, Parliamentary secretary for geology and mining, border affairs, irrigation and flood control Y. Patton cautioned individuals/public not to involve in any kind of land dealings within the Dag Nos. It may be noted that on March 28, 2007 the district administration had evicted the encroachers within the department’s land covered under Moza No. 3 of Dag No. 40, 41, 42, 43 and 45. According to director geology and mining Dimapur, H.K. Chishi, the parliamentary secretary made this comments after he along with the director and senior officers from the Directorate of Geology and Mining, district administration, revenue officials, police and public leaders visited geology and mining land in Purana Bazar on Thursday. The parliamentary secretary also appealed to the administration and the land revenue officials to cancel land patta if any had been issued within the area and also ensure that no land patta is being issued under any circumstances in the area. Later, the team also inspected the upgradation work of geology and mining departmental quarters carried out during 2008-09 period.
