Body recovered

Body of late Harkali (55) who was washed away by flash flood at Dzüvürü stream, somewhere below Lower Chandmari colony August 6, was retrieved from Dzü River Friday. A search team organized by Lower Chandmari Panchayat reportedly located the body on the bank of Dzü River, about one kilometer above the NH 39 at around 8 a.m. Initially, the raging current made it impossible to retrieve the body. However, the body was retrieved only after several hours of struggles. Volunteers, who took part in search operation, disclosed that though the body did not decompose, yet all the clothings was washed away by strong water current. Lower Chandmari colony Panchayat in a statement issued by its secretary John Kath has lauded all those involved in successful search mission. Particular mention was made on the help extended by deputy controller, civil defence and home guard Medo Pienyü and platoon commander Matsung Ao, the Assam Rifle personnel, Chakabama and Chandmari youth organizations, Nepali community, members of Lower Chandmari Panchayat, volunteers and well wishers.
