Nagaland Retirement from Public Employment (Second Amendment), Act, 2009 will come into force from October 31. A notification issued by P&AR department has directed all departments to immediately issue retirement orders of employees who are to retire on superannuation on the strength of provisions of the Act, a DIPR bulletin stated. NSGEWA reaffirms Nagaland Senior Government Employees Welfare Association (NSGEWA) Friday resolved to pursue legal means to reassert their right against Retirement Bill. Association general secretary Thunglamo Ovung said the resolution was adopted at the August 5 meeting of senior government employees from all over the state at State Academy Hall, Kohima. Urging all its members and affected employees not to be confused by certain “misleading” reports, NSGEWA said the writ petition filed by the association was duly admitted by Gauhati High Court and heard on July 27 by division bench. The court has directed with liberty to the petitioner to move the court again in the matter in due course, it added.
