NSCB on loan defaulters DIMAPUR: All ‘service loan’ defaulters of Nagaland State Co-operative Bank (NSCB) Ltd. Mokokchung branch have been informed to repay the overdue loan and also to continue repaying the monthly installments regularly. A press release issued by Senior Branch Manager, Mokokchung notified that action will be initiated against persons failing to recover the loan directly from their drawing and disbursement officer(s). The manager has also requested all drawing and disbursement officers to co-operate with Bank in recovery of loans as already agreed upon while recommending the loanees to the bank. Sangtsoze village inaugurated DIMAPUR: Sangtsoze village was inaugurated on August 6 by MLA and chairman NSMDC and DPDB C. Kipili Sangtam. He was accompanied by Kiphire DC, 33 IR major Kiphire and all head officers from various departments.Kipili speaking at the inauguration programme assured the villagers that since the village was now registered in the list of Naga villages, the village would get all facilities from government. The inaugural programme was chaired by VCC Azihmong and short speeches were delivered by Kiphire DC Yantsowo, KTC chairman R.Joshua and Kiphire head GB Yangkyumong. WAC cautions on anti-social elements DIMAPUR: Residents of Walford Area Council (WAC) have been informed that any person involved in drug peddling, sell of alcohol, indulging in immoral activities, extortion or any other anti-social elements within the council jurisdiction will be strictly dealt with. A press release issued by WAC general secretary Zulu Ozukum stated that offenders will be punished as per the resolution taken at the council meeting to maintain peace and tranquility of the area. DNSU cautions on fake job opportunity DIMAPUR: Dimapur Naga Students’ union (DNSU) has cautioned students to be alert of individuals and groups with dubious motives of promising job opportunities. Students have been informed to verify authenticity before applying for any advertised jobs or posts. A press release issued by DNSU president Medovoi Medeo and general secretary K. Mhachio Lotha stated that its office on Friday apprehended one Mintu Das of Khatkhati Karbi Anglong, Assam for duping Naga youths. DNSU has appealed the law enforcing agency to deliver appropriate punishment to the accused. NPF central office informs DIMAPUR: Naga People’s Front (NPF) central office has informed all the members of working committee, central office bearers, president of women wing, youth wing, farmers wing, convenor of media cell and legal cell, press bureau and president of all divisions to collect the complete bio-data form on August 20 during working days from NPF central office, Kohima and to submit it to association press secretary NPF central office Shilumar Ao. NU Dept of Botany notify aspirants DIMAPUR: Candidates seeking admission in M. Sc. (Botany) under NU have been notified that date for ‘Personal Interview cum Document Verification’ has been fixed on August 25 at Department of Botany, NU, Lumami. Time for interview has been fixed at 10:30 am to 12:30 pm for ‘provisionally selected candidates’ and 1 pm to 2:30 pm for ‘waiting list candidates’. DPBC talent expo DIMAPUR: Dimapur Phom Baptist Youth department will be organising talent expo in aid of youth seminar on August 9 at 10:30 a.m at Phom Baptist church Dimapur. All church members have been requested to attend the programme. IMFL seized in Longsa check gate Dimapur: Wokha Police seized around 840 bottles of IMFL and arrested two persons at Longsa police check gate on Friday around 5.30 pm. According to the police, the duo was arrested along with the IMFL as they were transferring it to a black Scorpio (ML-10-8275) from Dimapur to Mokokchung. The arrested persons were identified as one Viko Sumi (22) of Kushiabill, Dimapur and Hinato sumi (22) of VK town, Zunheboto district.
