Late Kezehol Pusa laid to rest

Rtd. OSD Education department late Kezehol Pusa was laid to rest at the native village Viswema, near John Govt. High School on August 9. Born in 1910, late Kezehol Pusa (father of K.V.Pusa, MLA and President Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee) was the first matriculate and graduate from the Southern Angami area and was also the fourth amount the Nagas to graduate, He died on August 7 from his residence at Midland, Kohima at the age of 99 after a prolonged illness. He was also the first head master of John High School Viswema and in 1952 he received the then Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nerhu along with his daughter Indira Gandhi and his Burmese counterpart U Nu from his very School, served as Deputy Chief Commander of British Army during 1944 and was a member of Simon Commission. Apart from these he was one of the pioneers in the field of education, social activities both at state and village level. He is survived by 3 sons, 5 daughters, 21 grand Children and 16 great grand children. Condolence messages were received from Neiphiu Rio- Chief Minister Nagaland, Dr. S. C. Jamir-Governor Maharastra, Angami Public Organisation, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee and various organizations. Hundreds of mourners from all walks of life paid their last tribute to the departed soul both at his residence at Kohima and at the burial place at Viswema, near John High School. Meanwhile, TPO, NPYC Former MLA Asu Keyho and MLA K. L. CHishi has expressed condolence over the demise of Kezehol Pusa TPO: Tenyimi People’s Organization (TPO) has expressed shock over the sudden demise of Kezehol Pusa. Tenyimi People’s Organization in a condolence message stated that late Pusa was among the first Naga generation in the field of modern education and was an ardent educationist who had contributed so much in the field of education and also catalyst in the transformation of Tenyimi and Naga society. While conveying their condolences to the bereaved family members, the Tenyimi People’s organization prayed that God Almighty grant them strength and solace at the time of sorrow and grief. NPYC: Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress has condoled the demise of Kezehol Pusa on August 7. A condolence message issued by Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress stated that late Kezehol was one of the first educated persons among the Nagas who concentrated on the human resources and social developments thought-out his life. Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed the Almighty grant strength them. Asu Keyho: Former MLA Asu Keyho has mourned the demise of Kezehol Pusa, father of NPCC President and MLA KV Pusa In a condolence address to KV Pusa, the MLA described late Kezehol Pusa’s life as a living legend for many and expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. K.L Chishi: MLA K.L Chishi has expressed shock over the sudden demise of Kezehol Pusa, father of K.V Pusa MLA and PCC president. In a condolence message, Chishi described late Kezehol as a pioneer in the field of education department amongst the Angami’s who served as a teachers under education department in various capacity. Chishi stated that in Kezehol’s death, Nagas have lost a guiding figure in the field of education which will be difficult to fill in. Chishi and his family have expressed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
