MLA Dr. Kire asserting that though ‘backward quota’ has some advantages the Konyak students should overcome the issue of ‘backward tag’. While addressing the 26th freshers day of Konyak Students Union Kohima on Saturday at Konyak Church, Dr. Kire said having ‘backward quota’ will not help the Konyak students in the long run because people live in a competitive world.
A student should have aims high in order to become somebody as expected by the parents and opined that a freshers day was not only for enjoyment but the day to strive for betterment.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Ashai Angel, T. Bongyong delivered welcome and presidential address, special songs were presented by Bongshom and Model Higher Secondary School, vote of thank delivered by Union’s assistant gen. secy. P.
