Ashas of Longleng, Changtongya block trained to serve community

Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) training on 5th Module for Longleng district was held from August 4 to 7 at PPC Hall, Longleng. At the training, ASHAs were divided into 7 groups based on module topic and each session was focused on group activities such as role play, games songs, GDs to enable them to learn and develop various effective skills to serve the community. The inauguration function was chaired by Alem DPM followed by exhortations from deputy CMO and MS DH Longleng respectively. The trainers included Alem Longkumer DPM, Zulu field supervisor and Lonjachuchang, project coordinator Woodland NGO, Mokokchung. The training concluded with valedictory function where ASHAs were awarded on their group and individual performances during the four day session. Changtongya: Four day ASHA training under Changtongya Block commenced on August 11 at Ongpangkong Salang Mokokchung. Dr. S.S. Akaba Dy. CMO Mokokchung while speaking at the inaugural program urged the ASHAs to learn and participate during such trainings so they can gain confidence in dealing with problems related to health care and also enable them to be familiar figures in the community. He also exhorted the ASHAs to assist health workers in all the health activities carried out in the community and encouraged them to work hard. The resource persons for the training included Dr. Lempi, Aien DPM, NRHM, Zulu WPCS and Longjaba WPCS. Participants of ASHA training will be distributed a kit each on the last day of training.
