Peren to observe Renewable energy day Dimapur: In commemoration of birth anniversary of late Rajiv Gandhi, Peren district administration would be observing Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Yrja Diwas celebration on August 20 to propagate the message and popularize the use of renewable energy based on devices and technology. The day long programme will include working module and essay competition of renewable energy at Government. High School, Peren with follow up closing programme and prize distribution. pensioners verification in Tuensang Dimapur: Physical verification of pensioners and family pensioners in Tuensang will be conducted from August 25 to September 5 at Treasury section at office hours. Nagaland Pensioners Association (NPA) Tuensang Unit has informed all pensioners to submit with relevant documents such as identity card and PPO book for physical verifications. Admission to M. Phil English under NU DIMAPUR: The candidates who have applied for admission to M. Phil in English under Nagaland University, Kohima are have been informed to appear for written test on August 21 at 11 a.m. Head of department English department, NU, Prof. NDR Chandra informed that written test will be followed by an interaction/interview on the same day. GPSU Kohima freshers’ meet KOHIMA: The 8th freshers’ meet of the Government Polytechnic Kohima has been convened on August 21 at 11 am at the college premises with F. P. Solo, commissioner and secretary, Higher and Technical Education, as chief guest. Government Polytechnic Students’ Union has extended invitation to all students, alumni and staff of the college at the function. CSUD social gathering cum freshers’ meet DIMAPUR: The 20th social gathering cum freshers’ meet of Chakhesang Students’ Union Dimapur will be held on August 29, Town Hall Dimapur from 10 am with Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Küzholüzo Neinu as the chief guest. Kuhuboto Ghkahu Public Organisation meet DIMAPUR: The Kuhuboto Ghkahu Public Organisation has convened a general public meeting on August 18, 10 am at its conference hall, Kuhuboto town. all frontal and public leaders, GBs and village council of Kuhuboto Ghakhu have been informed to attend the meeting. ‘Kids for Fame’ road show in Wokha DIMAPUR: The next Kids for Fame road shows will be held at Wokha on August 15. Public voting for first elimination round will close on August 18. After the road shows, the venue will shift back to Dimapur where a ‘Spectacular round’ will be held on August 22 at IMC Hall, Dimapur. In this round, three out of the 12 finalists will be eliminated based mainly on the number of voting cards each contestant has garnered and also the decision of the three judges KGPO re-drafting committee DIMAPUR: The Kuhuboto Ghakhu Public Organisation (KGPO) has unanimously elected 7 members for re-drafting the KGPO constitution with K Kakiye Sukhai as its convenor at a general meeting on August 11. Further, re- drafting committee will hold a meeting on August 15 at 10am at the residence of the convenor and requested all committee members to attend the meeting. USSC conference in Longkhim DIMAPUR: United Sangtam Students’ conference would be drafting the programme in view of the upcoming 63 USSC general conference to be held on August 20 at USSC treasure sub HQ Longkhim. All USSC officials host planning committee and representatives from AST, USLB and USGO have been informed to attend the meeting. 2nd season audition of EHS DIMAPUR: The 2nd season audition of Eastern Highway Star (EHS), Tuensang started on August 8. According to coordinator, EHS, Tsali, the selected 8 contestants for voting round include Reshemla Chang, Betemongla Chang, Akam Yimchunger, Johny Sangtam, Alepla Chang, Meren Sangtam, Kiuthrong Yimchunger, and Tomukam Yimchunger, including Horitsa, a contestant from Kohima. The release further informed that contestants from Kiphire, Longleng, and Mon districts must report on August 25 before 10 am at Circuit House, Tuensang. Chakhesang and Pochury leaders meet DIMAPUR: A meeting of Chakhesang and Pochury leaders has been convened on August 27 at 10 am at Hotel Japfu to discuss on Yemshe and Sükrünye/Tsükheyi festivals which will coincide with Road show in Meluri sub-division and Phek district during October and January 2010 respectively. Minister for Health & Family Welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) requested Legislators of Phek district, all Chakhesang and Pochury gazetted officers, representatives of various political parties in Phek district, DC/SP/Commandant (5th NAP) Phek and CPO/PPF members to attend the meeting. Enrollment to TSTD DIMAPUR: Tzurangkong Senso Telongjem Dimapur (TSTD) has notified all its bona fide unregistered citizens to enroll themselves in the union either through their village or directly through TSTD officials before August 20. Advocacy campaign on HIV and AIDS DIMAPUR: The Nagaland Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS (NNP+) will be organizing advocacy campaign on HIV and AIDS with stake holders at Meluri on August 19 supported by LFA - UNAIDS. Chief guest for the programme will be Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Yitachu. All stakeholders, G.Bs, D.Bs, HoDs, student organizations, town committee members, churches and public leaders have been requested to attend the programme. KLSU freshers’ day DIMAPUR: Kohima Lotha Students’ Union will be organising its 37th annual social cum freshers’ day in September in the State academy hall and has asked all students who have secured 60% and above in HSLC/ HSSLC to submit their mark sheet photo copy to KLSU executives. A note issued by Lichamo M . Mozhui, general sec, KLSU requested all bonafide members from class 3 to graduate level studying around Kohima to help in submitting annual membership fees on or before August 20. ANCSU meeting KOHIMA: The organizing committee member for the forthcoming 14th biennial general conference All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) has been scheduled on August 17 at 2 pm at the host college Sakus Mission College, Dimapur. NU declares LLB exam routine DIMAPUR: Examination routine for various LLB course under Nagaland University has been declared. According to Dr. Tongpangkumba Ao, Controller of examination, date of commencement of examination has been fixed from September 22 to October 7 and practical examinations from October 13 to 28.
