KVC on land encroachment

Kiyevi Village Council (KVC) in a memorandum to SDO (Civil), Dhansaripar has stated that member council and GBs of Kiyevi village had physically verified on July 29 and found some portions of the village land occupied by Mhainamtsi village by implementing various governmental schemes, road construction and bamboo plantation. A press release issued by chairman, Kiyevi Village Council, Y, Akato Zhimomi stated such act would invoke “into a big issue” and that it had no meaning in the “legal point of view”. Kiyevi Village Council also stated that it had intimated the department not to release further funds till the administrative head; Dhansaripar clarified the issue. It further resolved to take the matter to the concerned administrative head for early intervention to avoid the “same circumstance” considering the incident which took place on May 2000. Failing which, the release added that the village would be compelled to take its own course of action. Meanwhile, in a separate press release, the Kiyevi Village Council in a general meeting held at the residence of head GB, Botovi, Zhimomi on July 29 resolved to inform all authorities, both official and non-official, to obtain ‘no objection certificate’ from the village council before purchasing/selling land or any products that belonged to Kiyevi Village. Kiyevi Village Council informed individuals, company who purchased land from Kiyevi Village to furnish necessary certificates, documents to prove their dealings, failing which it added that the dealing would be declared ‘null and void’. The chairman further stated the notice was issued in continuation with the previous notification issued on March 28, 2004, adding the council had the authority to deal with any issues concerning the village as per customary laws.
