Change of security likely in Imphal Raj Bhavan

Teams of Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) separately inspected security protection at the Imphal Raj Bhavan in the aftermath of recovery of a car bomb inside the Raj Bhavan complex on September 18 last. The CISF posted at Imphal Airport and Chief Minister’s Bungalow is likely to be take over the additional charge of guarding the Imphal Raj Bhavan, a highly place official source said adding that government is considering on the matter. Apparently, the team of Imphal CISF led by its commandant, Mallik inspected the Raj Bhavan and its surrounding area on Monday afternoon. They also conducted a survey on the strategic points for security protection of the Raj Bhavan, the source said. The team also conducted a survey on the southern side of the Kangla fort situated between the Raj Bhavan and Chief Minister Bungalow. Meanwhile, a team of Central Intelligence Bureau arrived in Imphal for investigation into the incident of recovery of car bomb inside the Raj Bhavan and reviewed the security scenario of the bhavan in the aftermath of the failed attempt of exploding bomb inside the Raj Bhavan. A car fitted with IED was found parked at the parking area of the Imphal Raj Bhavan on September 18 last which was later claimed KCP (MC), Lanheiba group.
