Peace poster contest for students

Lions Club of Kohima will be sponsoring a Lions International peace poster contest on October 2 at 10 am Old MLA hostel near Ao church. The club has invited participants from age 11-13, as on November 15, to express their view or vision of peace through posters in the worldwide contest. The posters should visually communicate the contest theme ‘The power of peace.” The contest is limited to four students per school, preferably two boys and two girls. Contestants have been asked to complete the registration by 9:30 am. Once the winning poster is selected from the school, the club will forward it to the next level, where judging shall be made at the district, multiple district and international levels. The artists that advance to the final international judging and win the international grand prize will receive trip to the award ceremony on Lions Day with the United Nations in New York City in March 2010, and also receive a cash award of US $. 2,500, 23 merit award winners will each receive US $ 500 and a certificate of achievement.
