‘Lessons from life’, an autobiography by Kiremwati released

‘Lessons from life’, an autobiography by Kiremwati, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of NEHU was released by state minister for Urban Development and Higher Education Dr.Shurhozelie in a simple yet grand ceremony held at the Red Cross building conference hall here Wednesday. Dr. Shurhozelie after formally releasing the book said though many Nagas were into writing yet autobiographies or biographies he said the authobiography of Kiremwati was the first one he came across so far. Saying that he knew the author Kiremwati through his association and the book, Shurhozelie said “this person is a self made gentleman and a survival of the fittest according to Darwin’s theory of the survival of the fittest.” Pointing out that a biography or autobiography consists of two important components – facts and art of writing”, he said that the autobiography of Kiremwati fulfills all literal components. Prof. K.Kannan, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University who was the guest of honour in his addressed pointed out the content of the book where the author has tried to express his sincere personal feeling without any negativism and lauded the author. The author informed in the book that he believed in his duty and not his rights, said Prof Kannan adding that the book is what “every child and every teacher should read”. Additional Chief Secretary Banuo Z.Jamir who chaired the function in her remark termed the book as “so lucidly written with photographic proof” and lauded the author for his sharpness even at the age of 80. “He has blended both facts and art, and it is very readable…” she added. Meanwhile, the author revealed that state government had agreed to fund for printing 1000 copies of the autobiography for free distribution to all recognized institutions in the state. In the meantime, the book priced at Rs. 275 has already starting hitting the market on the spot after the releasing function.
