Abduction foiled

One person was caught for allegedly attempting to forcibly take away a 12-year old school girl near Fire Service Station and handed over to police by the DNSU office bearers. The accused identified as Sunil Choudhary (21) of Motihari district (Bihar) who was in an inebriated condition, was caught by two passersby, while trying force the 12-year old girl(Rosy Wotsa) a class six student, while she was getting into an auto to return home at around 3.30 pm Thursday. Earlier, the accused had reportedly tried to make the girl go with him near East P.S. when a passerby enquired if there was anything wrong. The accused replied that he was taking back his employer’s daughter home. Later near Fire Service Station, when Sunil tried to force the girl into an auto, the same passer-by(Chubameren) became suspicious and asked the girl if she knew the person and to which she replied in the negative. Thereupon, Chubameren and his friend got hold of Sunil and took him to the nearby DNSU office. After interrogation, the DNSU office bearers later handed Sunil to the Women’ Cell near East P.S.Police registered a case and investigation was on. According to the victim, Rosy Wotsa (12), she and her sister were out for shopping after which her sister told her to go home. Rosy said as she was boarding the auto, the accused allegedly held her hand forcibly and gave Rs 20 and also asked her to come with him to his room. Meanwhile, condemning the incident, DNSU expressed shock over the manner in which non- locals were involved in several cases of violence against women.
