Five arrested in connection with IED detection

Manipur police have arrested five persons in connection with the detection of IED laden vehicle in Imphal Raj Bhavan on September 18 which was owned up by the proscribed KCP (MC) Government had placed under suspension four personnel of the police CID on watch duty in the Bhavan on the charge of dereliction of duty. A departmental inquiry has been ordered into the incident to find out any lapses in the security measure taken up in the Raj Bhavan. The five arrested persons were Khumanlambam Jiten alias Tyson alias Brojen (35) son of Shamu of Nongren Mayai Leikai, Chongtham Laingam alias Budhi (36) son of late Ch Doren Singh of Sagolband Tera Amudon Leirak, Khumanlakpam Naba Singh (54) son of late Kh Modhu of Nongmeibung, Poropmpat, RK Ingocha Singh (41) son of late Netrajit of Singjamei Bheigyabati Leikai and Sorokhaibam sanayaima (44) son of late Nitya of Salam Leikai. Interrogations were on to find out more details on the intrusion of the IED laden vehicle, said Senior SP, Imphal West L Kailun. Earlier, police had arrested one of the suspects in connection with detection of IED inside the premises of Imphal Raj Bhavan from Wabagai Lamkhai.
