Attempted rape on minor foiled near Kohima

In another shocking incident, a 30 year-old man was caught for molesting two minor girls, a four-year-old and nine-year-old, both sisters, allegedly with the intention to commit rape in Zhadima, under Chiephobozou police station in the afternno of September 23. According to a delayed report, the accused, identified as one Govind Ghor (30), a labourer, was caught by public while attempting to commit rape. He was thrashed by the villagers and detained overnight at the village and later handed over to police on September 24. The Zhadima youth has lodged an FIR at Chiephobozou police station, accused Govind Ghor, from Manja, Assam of attempted rape on two minor girls, the daughters of a Nepali labourer working at a nearby stone crusher unit . Talking to Nagaland Post, Zhadima village youth president Roko Angami said that Govind , reportedly under the influence of alcohol, first caught hold of elder sister (nine and half year old) but she managed to escape. He then caught hold of the four year-old sister and placed her on his lap. He was caught by the alerted public while in the process of trying to unbutton his pants. Roko Angami daid Zhadima village has expelled the accused from the village and also urged the authorities to award exemplary punishment to the accused.
