Kiphire District Congress Committee (KDCC) has clarified the news item which appeared on September 23 in local dailies under the headline “DCC, NPF Kiphire clarify on fund misuse”. According to KDCC, general secretary, Chopise Sangtam, the deputy commissioner, Kiphire, Yantowo Lotha was elected chairman of “Mongmong-cum-road show” at Kiphire and added that all financial proportions were made through him and not through the department of planning and coordination as he had alleged. In actuality, the KDCC stated the public work department (PWD) was allocated only Rs. 10000 by DC Kiphire.
The KDCC in addition added that the DC had given Rs. 20000 to the PHED department but was “returned” after observing that the amount was “less” compared to the expenditure incurred and further alleged that payments were yet to be made by the DRDA, fisheries and horticulture department.
It also reminded DC Kiphire not to resort to any kind of allegation being the chairman of “Mongmong-cum-road show” at Kiphire, but to tender apology to KDCC, failing which the KDCC added it would seek appropriate action from “high command” and from “any court of law”.
