: Chakhesang Youth Organization Dimapur District (CYODD) has condemned the attack on Hotel Maple on September 23 by some miscreants, destroying private property and injuring three employees of the hotel.
In a statement CYODD president Kesalie Thopi and general secretary CYODD Sekhoyi Ringa, while condemning the act stated the group had abducted two employees of the hotel and took them to some undisclosed location where they were tortured. The release stated that the group instead of seeking assistance of the law enforcing agency had taken law into their own hands. The CYODD further expressed surprise on the involvement of NPF Dimapur A/C, former minister Hocto and president Sumi Community Dimapur Khukivi Awomi for spreading “false propaganda of rape and illegal detention” of the girl instead of concentrating on resolving the issue.
The union also stated that someone claiming to be Sumi president had even threatened the law enforcing agency to release the two persons, arrested by police earlier after the incident. CYODD also questioned why the family members of the girl refused the law enforcing agencies from taking the girl for medical check up.
The union while appreciating the police for arresting two of the culprits stated the incident was staged with a “sole intention” to deface the hotel and to ruin business.
