DEO Zbto on minority scholarship

District Education Officer, Zunheboto has clarified to the news item which appeared in local dailies under the caption ‘Clarification from DSE Kohima’ on Sept 14 and RTI with regard to Minority Scholarship on September 27. A release issued by DEO Zunheboto Ghuzui Shohe stated that the 2008-09 scheme for the girl child of class IX who have secured 50% and above in the last final exam have to be opened on a 0- balance account in a nationalized and the a/c number has to be submitted to the DSE and the scholarship was to be debited every year from the head office. It stated that as the scholarship was for a bonafide community girl child, the question of state and district officials manipulating and depriving the deserving children did not arise. The DEO said that the scholarship scheme forms for the 2008-09 have not been issued till date and the scheme for 2009-10 includes girl child from class 1-8 and the procedure was the same and last date of compilation of the same was September 18. Scholarship forms for Class -5 and 9 (CEAF) have been released and disbursed and more details can be obtained from DEOZ, principal GHSS Zunheboto, DIS Zunheboto and ANPSA president Zunheboto. The DEO further appealed all to refrain from character assassination as more information and clarifications were available at the DEOZ office.
