Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) would be organizing “We Care II” a musical fiesta on November 13 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
The two-pronged purpose of the concert is to provide platform for local musicians, songwriters and artistes who will be taking the stage to perform their original songs in Ao dialect, besides the proceeds from the show would be used for the free coaching class that is currently underway for Class X (repeaters) conducted by AKM.
With a plan to include in the annual calendar of events for the AKM, the “We Care” project was successfully launched in 2005 where a similar concert was organized by the AKM in aid of the victims of the natural calamities that struck Mokokchung then.
Since then, the second edition of the project titled “We Care II” has been formulated and for which ground works have already started. On Tuesday, the ticket for the show was officially released by the president Ao Senden Lendinokdang at a brief program at the conference hall of AKM.
President of Ao Senden after the release of the tickets lauded the efforts of the AKM by incorporating the students’ welfare as well as acknowledging the local talents who have contributed immensely to the society. He also appealed the citizens to come forward and extend their support and cooperation to the AKM in the noble venture of “We Care II”.
He further added, “By buying the ticket, one should understand the he is not spending unnecessary money rather he is supporting the good cause”. The dedicatory prayer was offered by Pastor Bendang Jamir, MTBA.
AKM has lined up a number of renowned artists for the show that included Anungba Sanglir, Nchanters, Teroto Naro, Abiogenesis, Toshinaro Naga Idol 2.08, Ao Sunak, Changsen, Watinaro, Meren Jamir, Samaro and Meyipshishi. The show will also be entertained by ‘Higher Ground’ from Dimapur.
The chief guest and the guest of honor Minister PHED, Dr. Ngangshi K Ao Nagaland and Addl. Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner Alemtemshi respectively for the show has been has already confirmed, added AKM.
