Ibobi upset over class boycott

Manipur chief minister, O Ibobi Singh while asking all responsible to stop using education sector as a tool to achieve their demands appealed the agitating student bodies to withdraw the decision of boycotting classes. Stating that the decision of boycotting classes was ruining the future of the students said, “It is like breaking the backbone of our future”. The chief minister also hinted the armed groups of instigating the class boycott stir spearheaded by three student bodies and hinted to news of distributing bullets to some schools for violating the class boycott stir. Ibobi however did not talk elaborately on the matter. Delivering his speech as chief guest at the concluding function of the 2nd School Meet-2009, chief minister O Ibobi Singh further termed the July 23 shooting incident as “very unfortunate” and reiterated the government’s decision of not sparing any person found guilty in the incident. “I assure you that government will not delay in awarding befitting punishment to those guilty within a time bound period,” Ibobi said asking the people not to hinder the judicial inquiry by boycotting it.
