KVC clarifies on oldest village in Nagaland

Reacting to the news report on the visit of TPO officials to oldest and first village in Nagaland that was published on September 22 issue in a local daily, Khezhakeno village council (KVC) has clarified that since time immoral legend of migrant from Khezhakeno to other tribes had passed down by the forefathers to present generation. KVC stated that Tenyimi people organizations had erected a monolith declaring Khezhakeno as the ancestral home of Nagas on February 22 at the 9th session of Tenyimia central union under the president ship of W.C. Krome and general secretary Zakieo Metha and in presence of all the Tenyimia Tribal Hohos. It also refuted that TPO declared another village to be first and oldest in Nagaland. KVC head GBS Kepeflhou and Chairman Lhouchinyi stated that the press statement had created doubt and confusion in the minds of many Naga where many Naga tribes regard Khezhakeno as the origin of Nagas. Stating that history will never change, Khezhakeno village has appealed TPO to speak truthfully and give a clear stand to the people of Nagaland and cautioned not to mislead the people without knowing the truth and the fact history of Naga.
