CMC Vellore consultants to visit Dmu DIMAPUR: Senior faculty from Christian Medical College Vellore will be visiting Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR) at 4th Mile, Dimapur during the fortnight beginning October 11. Prof. Lionel Gnanaraj (Medical Superintendent & Head, Urology Dept.) will visit Dimapur between October 11 and 15. He will examine and operate on Urology patients on October 12, 13 and 14. . Prof Mary Mathew (Microbiology) and her husband Prof Mohan Mathew (Anesthesiology) will accompany Prof. Lionel Gnanaraj. According to director CIHSR, Prof Jacob Chacko (Head, Paediatric Surgery) and Dr Bharathy Jacob (Dean, College of Nursing) will be available in Dimapur on Saturday the October 24. Urology and Paediatric Surgery patients desirous of seeking appointments have been informed to contact reception desk in the OPD of the CIHSR before October 9. WRSU to check teacher irregularities DIMAPUR: Wozhuro Range Students’ Union (WRSU) has resolved to check irregularities of teacher and government employees posted at Wozhuro area, and also to check the utilization and implementation of government schemes like- SSA, mid-day meal and other village development. The union in a press statement by its president, Janbemo Ovung has also informed all the officers, village authority and range community to co-operate with the union for the better service for the people. Further, union has thanked all Wozhuro Range community for their physical contribution during tree plantation held at Wozhuro area. It has also thanked the chairman, VDB secretary of Phiro and Sankitong; Phiro Baptist Church; Phiro Youth Organization; Shaki youth; EAC department and medical department (PHC). ‘Tsokum festival’ greetings DIMAPUR: Khiamnuingan Union, Dimapur has conveyed greetings to the Khiamnuingan community and all Nagas living in the country and abroad on occasion of ‘Tsokum Festival’ (pre-harvest). The Union wished all members of the community a successful ‘Tsokum festival’ and prayed for a rich harvest. It also requested to all government departments, schools and colleges to grant one day casual leave to Khiamnungan community on account of the festival on October 5.
