In a joint meeting between the VDB Secretaries and Village Council Chairmen of the Zunheboto Block held, the members lauded the project director, BDO and staff of Zunheboto Block for the progress of villages through the implementation of the pro-rural programme NREGS.
According to the press release issued by the president, VDB Secretaries Association Zunheboto Block, the scheme had not only enabled villagers to earn their livelihood but also ushered in developmental works.
“This has been made possible by the keen interest shown by the department in personally verifying the places tirelessly where works are carried out”, added the release. The meeting unequivocally mentioned that the project director and BDO played active role in carrying out the work apart from making timely release of funds. Moreover, it categorically appreciated the department in-charge for the transparency shown in financial management and further added that every village in Nagaland would “literally shine” so long as such officials are there at the helm.
The president further remarked that all the VDB and VCC under Zunheboto Block have also been cooperating with each other by verifying the works along with the department so that every village makes the best use of funds for community welfare. He further opined that both the VDB and VCC under Zbto Block has been working earnestly to earn the tag “best block” in terms of using the fund for village development.
